Excess
Excess Flood Coverage is coverage that exceeds the National Flood Program’s defined limits.
Be Careful: Do not purchase an Excess Flood policy without having a base flood policy in place. The excess flood policy will only provide coverage above the National Flood Policy’s defined limits.
The correct process of purchasing an excess flood policy would look like this:
- Obtain a Flood Certificate. Note: The certificates DO EXPIRE… Make sure the certificate you have has not expired. A flood Certificate should look like this, click here.
- Get a price for the flood insurance policy from Georgia Flood Insurance and purchase a flood policy.
- If the maximum coverage from the National Flood Program is not sufficient for your needs, then get a “Excess Flood Coverage” quote for the additonal coverage need to meet the overal coverage goals.
Excess Flood Insurance can traditionally be purchased in increments to meet your specific needs. Are you looking for a quote? Start by clicking here.
